PatchCodex is a gaming intelligence service designed to help players understand relevant changes to the games they play. This Privacy Policy explains what information PatchCodex collects, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

2. Information We Collect

When you connect your Steam account, PatchCodex may store information made available through Steam's services, including:

• Your Steam ID.
• Your Steam display name and public profile information.
• Your Steam profile image or avatar.
• Your owned-game library.
• Your recorded playtime for individual games.
• Your last-played timestamps.

PatchCodex does not receive or store your Steam password. Authentication is handled through Steam.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use connected Steam information to provide PatchCodex features, including:

• Identifying games you own or play.
• Calculating game relevance.
• Determining which game updates occurred since you last played.
• Generating personalized catch-up summaries and gameplay intelligence.
• Synchronizing your library when you request a refresh.
• Maintaining and securing your PatchCodex session.

4. Cookies and Sessions

PatchCodex uses an essential session cookie to keep you signed in after authenticating with Steam. This cookie is used for authentication and account security rather than advertising.

5. Game and Patch Information

PatchCodex also stores information about supported games, official game updates, patch notes, and structured gameplay changes. This information is generally shared across users and is not specific to your PatchCodex account.

6. Service Providers

PatchCodex relies on third-party service providers to operate the application. These may include hosting, database, authentication, and artificial-intelligence infrastructure. Information is shared with these providers only as reasonably necessary to operate PatchCodex and provide its features.

PatchCodex may use artificial-intelligence services to process game and patch information and to generate summaries.

7. Selling and Advertising

PatchCodex does not sell your personal information. PatchCodex does not currently use your connected Steam information for targeted advertising.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

PatchCodex retains account information while your account is connected and as needed to provide the service.

You can permanently delete your PatchCodex account data from the Account page. Deletion removes your PatchCodex profile, connected Steam account information, synced game library, and personalized catch-up data.

Shared game, patch, and update intelligence that is not tied specifically to your account may remain after your account is deleted.

9. Data Security

PatchCodex uses reasonable technical measures intended to protect account information, including authenticated sessions and restricted access to stored user data. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

PatchCodex is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as PatchCodex develops. When material changes are made, the updated date at the top of this page will be revised.
